Crossfit - TABATA

Saturday:

Straight from the noHo website:
‘Tabata Something Else’

Pull Ups

Push Ups

Sit Ups

Squats

1 point per rep. One round of ‘tabata’ consists of 8 sets of 20 seconds work and 10 seconds rest. You can only do work during the 20 seconds rest period. There is no extra time when switching movements. Do 8 sets of Pull Ups, 8 sets of Push Ups, 8 sets of Sit Ups, 8 sets of Squats.

This was a crazy workout! Oh I almost forgot! Let me start with the warm up! To warmup we did 15 squats, 15 push ups, 15 sit ups, 10 pull ups, & a 400 meter run. . . 3 TIMES! (this is ONLY the warm up, people!)

I was lucky I even made it to the gym! I couldn't really move too well without a lot of soreness since Thursday's killer wod. Somehow Tom guilted me into going and I'm so glad I did. I was able to do much more than I would have thought and I was able to do it while sore - (the soreness came back but eased up by Sunday evening)

The WOD consisted of 2 waves. Tom went in the first one, I was his counting partner. He did an awesome job!

When it was my turn we started with pull-ups (RR). I wasn't sure how well these were going to go considering we had to do 8 rounds of them straight up - somehow I managed to do a whopping 64! Just when you think your arms need a break, you have to try to do a bunch of push ups. I was able to bust out 56. Then came the dreaded sit ups. I knew from the last time that I had to do these that my tail bone was going to be very unhappy with me the next day. Sit ups were tough, but I was able to do 56. Lastly were the death inducing squats. My legs were jelly from the last WOD but Tom encouraged me to do as many as possible to score a high amount of points. It was really tough, but I was able to do a ridiculous 84! That's a total score of 268!!

Including the warm up reps:

Pull ups - 94

Push ups - 101

Sit ups - 101

Squats - 129

BONUS: 3/4 of a mile run

TOTAL REPS: 425!

Just another day at crossfit that helped me prove to myself that I actually CAN do things that I wouldn't have thought possible even just a month ago!
